Issachar is a son of Jacob and Leah, born on the fourth of the fifth month in the fourth year of the fourth week. He is listed among the sons of Leah together with Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, and Zebulon. He went forth with Reuben and Zebulon on the north side of a tower and slew fighting men of the Philistines.
