Portrait of Samlah

Samlah from Mesrekah, from the country of the children of the east, reigned as king of Edom in place of Hadad the son of Bedad. He reigned over Edom for eighteen years. The children of Esau prevented him from engaging in battle and he turned back with all his forces to the land of Edom. Saul was later made king over them in the place of Samlah.
