Gibeon
Gibeon is a location that had its own king, who was among those secretly contacted by Japhia king of Hebron. Its inhabitants feared fighting the Israelites and cunningly approached Joshua claiming to be from a distant land, securing a covenant and peace. Other kings later encamped before Gibeon to fight its people, who then sent to Joshua for help against the gathered kings of the Amorites.
