Shittim
The children of Israel abode in the plain of Shittim and began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. The children of Moab acted thus toward Israel in the plain of Shittim, and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel so that a pestilence was sent among them. Joshua and all Israel later journeyed from Shittim and passed the Jordan.
