Caleb

Portrait of Caleb

Caleb the son of Jephuneh explored the land with Joshua the son of Nun and declared it exceedingly good. He was excepted from the wicked generation that would not see the land, and alone with Joshua he survived while the others died in the wilderness. Joshua later gave Mount Hebron to Caleb as one portion above his brethren, and it became an inheritance to him and his children.
