Jochebed
Jochebed is the mother who was called to nurse the child and received wages for doing so. She is the sister of Gershon, Kehath and Merari, the children of Levi, and was born unto them in their going down to Egypt. She is the daughter of Levi and the wife of Amram; he took her when she was one hundred and twenty-six years old, and three years after driving her away he came to her and she conceived. Pharaoh's daughter later told Jochebed to take the child and suckle it for wages of two bits of silver daily.
