Lachish

Illustration of Lachish

Lachish is a location with its own king who received secret messages from other kings such as Japhia of Hebron and Adonizedek of Jerusalem. Joshua passed on to Lachish to fight against it, where Horam king of Gaza assisted the men of Lachish. Joshua smote Horam and his people until none remained, then took Lachish and all the people thereof and did to it as he had done to Libnah.
