Asshur
Asshur is listed among the sons of Shem, alongside Elam, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram. Arpachshad was born two years after the flood. Asshur received the second portion of land, consisting of all the land of Asshur and Nineveh and Shinar and to the border of India, ascending and skirting the river.
