Shinar
Shinar is a land allotted in Asshur's portion along with Nineveh and extending toward the border of India. People journeyed eastward from Ararat to Shinar, where they built a city and a tower intending to ascend into heaven, using burnt bricks and asphalt. The whole land of Shinar came to be called Babel after the Lord confounded the languages of humanity there and dispersed them.
